Reflect on the learning theories you have been exploring this week as you prepare for your next activity. Select an organization in which e-learning could be implemented, preferably your own organization, or one with which you are very familiar. Evaluate the learning theories presented in this section and discuss the following:
Introduce adult learning principles and the pedagogical learning models
Create a comparison chart demonstrating the differences between adult learning assumptions and pedagogical learning assumptions
Assess which learning theories will be most beneficial to adopt in your organization for the successful implementation of e-learning.
Create an activity using a learning theory of your choice to foster a meaningful e-learning experience for your selected student population.
Length: 4-7 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Minimum of five scholarly resources
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your paper should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

There have been a number of e-learning models and theories that have been around for a while and others that have surfaced or been realigned over the past two decades to complement teaching and learning in the online environment. Some are based on an adult learning theory while others focus on the e-learning needs of younger students. The learning theory that is related to children is called pedagogy while the adult learning theory is referred to as andragogy. Some instructors integrate the constructivism theory into their classroom. This approach deems students learn best by experience and reflecting on their experiences. The transformative theory is constructivist in nature and fosters understanding of experiences and takes a worldview look. A question that might surface could be why are there so many different learning theories and how do they apply to your teaching and learning environment? The overarching discussion is that adults need and want to learn concepts that are relevant and meaningful to them either personally or how the concepts directly connect to their experience and background. This is different from younger students who may not have the learned experiences that adult learners possess. Adult learners also benefit from leading their own learning experiences with instructors as a facilitator.
